Laundry area Location:    INTERIOR    EXTERIOR

Supply piping
  •  The supply piping is in acceptable condition
  •  Angle stop on the hot / cold side was corroded
  •  Leaking at the angle stop hot / cold    (*DIY TIP: Have contractor evaluate)
  •  Non functional hot / cold water supply   (*DIY TIP: Have contractor evaluate)
Waste
  •  The drain line was functional
  • Drain line was blocked  (*DIY TIP: Have contractor evaluate)
Gas Supply
  •  The gas valve is okay
  • Valve for gas is leaking  (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard)
  • Handle is damaged on gas valve   (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard)
120v Supply
  •  The Receptacle is okay
  • Receptacle is not grounded  (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard) 
  • Reversed polarity at plug   (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard)
  •  Plug is non operational  (*DIY TIP: Have contractor evaluate)
  •  Damaged Plug    (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard)
  •  Cover plate is missing  (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard)
240v supply
  •  The 240 Receptacle is okay
  •  Receptacle (240) is not grounded  (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard)
  •  Non operational 240 receptacle    (*DIY TIP: Have contractor evaluate) 
  •  Damaged 240 receptacle   (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard)
  •  Cover plate is missing  (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard)
Dryer Duct
  •  The dryer duct is okay
  •  Blocked dryer duct   (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard)
  •  Duct is too long (*DIY TIP: Have contractor evaluate)
  •  Not made of rigid metal  (*DIY TIP: Have contractor evaluate)
  •  Vents vertically with no clean out  (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard)
  •  Has screws which penetrate the duct (not allowed)   (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard)
Cabinetry
  •  The cabinet is functional
  •  Damaged cabinets or drawers
  •  Not secured to the wall
  •  Doors are loose / need adjustment
  •  There are missing doors / drawers at the cabinet
Combustion / Make-up Air
  •  The combustion / make up air is okay
  •  There is insufficient combustion / make up air    (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard)
Room Ventilation
  •  The room ventilation is okay
  •  Non functional vent fan   (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard)
  •  Fan is noisy  (*DIY TIP: Have contractor evaluate)
  •  Ventilation fan is dirty  (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard)
  •  The fan is loose / hanging from the ceiling  (*DIY TIP: Have contractor evaluate)
Washing Machine Pan
  •  The washing machine pan is okay
  •  Pan is damaged
  •  We suggest adding a pan here
  •  The floor drain is not tested
Laundry Sink
  •  The laundry sink faucet, sink and plumbing was functional
  •  Sink faucet was non functional  (*DIY TIP: Have contractor evaluate)
  •  Faucet hot / cold water is non functional  (*DIY TIP: Have contractor evaluate)
  • Plumbing leaks  (*DIY TIP: Have contractor evaluate)
  •  Hot and cold water lines are reversed  (*DIY TIP: Have contractor evaluate)

Electrical

Switches
  • The Switches are verified and functional
  •  Unable to verify switch operation  (*DIY TIP: Have contractor evaluate)
  •  Damaged switches observe  (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard)
  •  Upside-down switches observed
Receptacles
  •  The receptacles are functional
  •  Non operational plugs   (*DIY TIP: Have contractor evaluate)
  •  Scorched receptacles   (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard)
  •  Damaged plugs noted   (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard)
  •  There are receptacles which are not switched (1/2 hot required when there are no lights)  (*DIY TIP: Have contractor evaluate)
  •  GFCI receptacles needed / required  (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard)
  •  Defective GFCI receptacles noted   (*DIY TIP: This is a hazard)
Luminaries
  •  Ceiling lights are functional
  • There are Ceiling lights with non operational light bulbs   (*DIY TIP: Check for operation prior to close)
  •  Lights with missing / damaged globes
  •  Added recessed light fixtures  (*DIY TIP: Check for a building permit)
  •  Loose recessed light fixtures
